Normal reactions:

  • Redness, warmth, mild swelling (sunburn-like) for 24-72 h; occasional bruising or “bug-bite” bumps can last up to 14 days.

  • Brown spots often darken, then flake off in 3-14 days, depending on body site.

  • Very rare: tiny blisters or scabs - keep them intact and call us if they enlarge.

First 48 hours:

  • Cool compress / ice pack 10 min every hour while awake to ease heat and swelling.

  • Sleep with the treated area elevated if possible.

  • Wash gently with a mild cleanser and lukewarm water; pat dry.

  • Apply a bland moisturizer or thin layer of Aquaphor® as needed.

  • Skip hot tubs, saunas, vigorous workouts, or very hot showers.

Days 2-7:

  • Do not pick, rub, or exfoliate.

  • Pause retinoids, acids, benzoyl peroxide, vitamin C, and shaving until skin is calm (about 5-7 days).

  • Makeup is fine after 24 h if skin is intact.

Sun care (critical):

  • Zero direct sun for 14 days; no tanning beds or self-tanner for 4 weeks.

  • Broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen every 2 hours outdoors, plus hat/UPF clothing.

Results & number of sessions:

  • Visible improvement emerges within 2-6 weeks as redness fades and pigment lifts; collagen remodeling continues for months.

  • Typical course:

    • Small vessels / freckles: 1-3 sessions.

    • Diffuse redness, rosacea, larger leg or facial veins: 2-5 sessions, spaced ~4 weeks apart, with annual maintenance.

Call us if you notice:

  • Swelling or redness persisting >5 days

  • Increasing pain, yellow drainage, or fever

  • Any blister larger than a pencil-eraser

  • New dark/light patches after 2 weeks
